Information on the 11 Plus Schools and Examination in Trafford

Examination Dates
The dates for the examination will be held in the first week of October (October 4th 2008). There have been major changes to the examinations in Trafford. Please see below for more information.

Examination Types
The examination types for the Trafford Entrance Examinations (now called the Sale Grammar School Entrance Examination) will be the following: Mathematics - (Multiple Choice/ 45 mins) - Verbal Reasoning - (Multiple Choice/ 55 mins/ first 10 mins is a 'mock test') - Nonverbal Reasoning - (Multiple Choice/ 32 mins). The tests are all set by NFER.

All other schools in the Trafford area will have their own tests. Please contact the schools themselves for further information. There is a list below of all schools not included in this test.

General Information
The Trafford Secondary Selection Procedure (11 Plus examinations) will now be called the Sale Grammar School Entrance Examination. This will be for children who wish to gain entry into Sale Grammar School only. Children who wish to apply for other Trafford Grammar schools will have to sit tests set by the schools themselves. This information can be obtained through contacting the schools themselves.
