Are the Kent 11 plus exam dates changing?

Posted by Gerry on Monday 17th of December 2007 in 11 Plus

The eleven plus examinations are almost upon us, and here at the Gravesend Centre we are gearing up to the final round of Christmas courses that will hopefully help our children get into the schools they want. But recently there have been some rumours as to a change in the 11 Plus selective examination dates for the Kent area. As you all know, every year the tests usually take place sometime during the first week of January (this year it is the 7th).

The proposed changes include taking the test in September (at the start of the Year 6 school year) and a difference in the timing of the tests themselves. As we have a lot of children coming to us for 11+ tuition at our Gravesend Centre, we thought it would be of benefit to make everyone aware of the proposed changes, as this may affect those children entering for next years tests. But don't worry, as the Etc we are keeping an eye on any changes that may take place, and will inform parents of those decisions as and when the times comes.

For more information on the changes, you can visit the Kent County Council website here. If you have any comments or suggestions about the changes, you are more than welcome to post your views in this blog.
