Gravesend Sailing Club

You may not notice it that much (as you see it every day and you live right next to it) but the Thames really is quite an exciting place for activities. Take for instance sailing - here we are on the bank of the most famous river in the world. Pocahontas famously sailed up the Thames; Gravesend was for the longest time the most important port in England.

But despite the recent decline in interest, people can still enjoy and celebrate the naval history of Gravesend by joining the Gravesend Sailing Club.

What better way than to go down to the Gravesend Sailing Club with your children and see what it's all about. You may be surprised at what you discover!

Gravesend Old Town Hall Gets £3 million Revamp

Posted by Shaun Drury on Wednesday 05th of March 2008 in Local News

Exciting news for people living in Gravesend as the Gravesend Old Town Hall  which used to house the old Police station and Magistrates' Courts is being giving a £3 million revamp.

It will be good to see the Grade II listed building restored to it's former glory. The Council are hoping to complete the project, which will see the building turned into a community area, by next April.

Exam Technique

Posted by Shaun Drury on Wednesday 05th of March 2008 in Education & Revision Help

You would not expect a professional footballer to be any good at his job if he doesn’t train, nor would you expect a professional golfer to win a tournament if he hadn’t played the course a couple of times. So why is it then that most parents expect their children to do well in an exam if they haven’t had any practice, or haven’t been taught how to answer the questions in the exam?
