Mathematics and English tests are reported on in terms of the National Curriculum. The reasoning results are shown as Standardised Scores.
About Standardised Scores
Assessment Parameters
The results produced by this assessment are pertinent to performance in an assessment session, at a particular stage of education. It must be recognised that a child's performance can vary from one academic or educational stage to another. This report attempts to describe performance in terms of the National Curriculum.
- Working Towards -The child has not yet completed, on this occasion, this stage to a satisfactory level and is `Working Towards' this goal.
- Proceed To Next Level - This child has completed this to a satisfactory level, and is advancing towards the next stage.
Standardised Scores
The raw score, which is the number of correct answers, is converted by means of a nationally based standardisation table.
- A 'Standard Score' of '100' is around average, or at the 50th percentile.
- A score of '110' and above indicates the top 25% of children taking the test.
- 68% of children will have results on standardised tests between a standardised score of 85 and 110.
- Only 14% of children will achieve results above a standardised score of 115.
