What is a CLC?
City Learning Centres (CLC’s) are educational establishments which were originally established as part of the Excellence In Cities initiative. They were designed to deliver specialised programmes that help bring interactive resources to address the educational needs of urban areas using technology as a means of empowerment and engagement. CLCs bring a new approach to learning that increases the diversity of educational tools for pupils around the UK. The CLC also assists schools in co-operation and in raising learning standards using ICT within their own establishments and it aims to extend learning opportunities for pupils of all abilities.

There are currently 105 CLCs operating throughout the country. These Centres provide state-of-the art ICT-based learning opportunities for a network of surrounding schools and the wider community.

About the Ealing CLC
There are two CLC’s in Ealing. The hub is located in Acton at The Greer Centre on the site of Acton High School and was launched in the summer of 2002. The success of this main site was followed by an additional site at Northolt High School in 2005. Ealing CLC actively promotes interactive learning for students at all Key Stages, from 1 to 5. The CLC not only provides cutting-edge education through specialist ICT facilities, but it has also contributed to the wider community through it’s provision of Adult Learning courses.

The primary aim of Ealing CLC is to empower learners, promote innovation and support the creative use of educational tools.
