Examination Types
The Kent Tests consist of NFER Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning. All of the three tests are multiple choice. The English tests are a writing task, but these are only taken into consideration in the event of an appeal. Most selective secondary schools in Kent choose the Kent test for admissions. Schools within Ashford that use the Kent Selection Tests are listed below.

But there are areas within Kent that do not use the Kent tests. The Medway area for instance (Rochester, Gillingham, Chatham and Rainham) only do Verbal Reasoning, mathematics and English.
